Edenvale Library
Edenvale Community Library strives to inform, enrich and empower all community members by promoting access to a vast variety of media and information.
From a humble beginning 52 years ago in an office of the Town Treasurer, the library collection and membership have steadily grown and on 2 October 1993 the doors of this modern and well-equipped library opened to the public.
The library currently has a collection of 96 000 books, magazines, newspapers, educational toys and audio-visual media. Adult users have access to a wide variety of printed as well as audio-visual media, including Audio Books, CD’s, CD-ROM’s, DVD’s and Videos. The Children’s Library strives to nurture a love of reading and learning in young library users.
The library caters for children of all ages, from picture books for toddlers to the latest best sellers for teenagers and young adults. This section also houses a well-equipped Educational Toy Library. In the Reference Section, library users have access to free Internet usage.
Public usage computers are available for the typing of CV‘s etc. Management and staff members are committed to render an excellent service to the community. Membership for Ekurhuleni ratepayers is free, upon presentation of proof of physical address and positive ID. The annual fee for non-residents is R110 per adult and R60 per pensioner or minor. All community members are invited to visit the Edenvale library for an enriching experience.
