2010 Soccer fever in EkurhuleniThe 2010 FIFA World Cup, presents to us, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, Gauteng Province and the Country as a whole, unprecedented opportunities and challenges. The high volume of people expected in 2010, poses a serious challenge to all of us and we therefore have to respond adequately by providing quality services in respect of sufficient accommodation, Information and Communication Technologies, Telecommunication, transportation, stadia, and entertainment in a reliable and safe manner.

Whilst our municipality is not a host city for the 2010 World Cup, it is however a host to the point of entry in O.R. Tambo International Airport to the people of the world. It is thus our responsibility to project a first time impression of South Africa in a memorable and unforgettable way, in a uniquely African way that will linger in people’s minds long after the final whistle has been blown.
