The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality is the first municipality in the country to offer online viewing and payment of your municipal accounts.
- It’s free;
- It’s easy;
- Is convenient;
- Secure;
- Gives you proof of payment;
- You get receipt of payment; and
- View your account history.
Getting started
Viewing and paying your account/s online is a free service where you can securely view your municipal account statements as well as securely make payments.
By visiting the official website of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, https://www.e-siyakhokha.co.za/ in order to register and sit back and at your convenience pay your municipal account/s.
To register
To make use of this service all you need is internet access, registration for and the use of the Ekurhuleni electronic service is free.
To register you will need:
- Your municipal services account number;
- Your ID number;
- Your personal details;
- Choose the appropriate option from:
- Business;
- Agent;
- Tenant; or
- Owner.
- Accept Terms and Conditions.
Logon details
Once you have registered you need to complete LOGON details where you choose a password that you will type in each time you log on to the site.
- Don’t share your password;
- Don’t log onto the site and then leave the computer open – anyone can then view your personal details and account;
You will then need to fill in your user details, as requested on the page.
Session expired
For security reasons the system has been implemented with a limited session expiry. If you do not use the system for a period of about 20minutes after logging in, you will get a ‘Session Expired’ notice and it will automatically log you out.
If you expect to be away from your computer ensure that you save your current work as it will be lost. You should not, once you logged in, leave the system unattended.
Payment
Payments can be made from a banking account of your choice. The following methods are available:
Once-off Debit Instruction – Choose the bank account you wish to pay from and instruct the payment. Your account will be debited with the request amount and you will receive notification once the payment has been confirmed successful by your bank. Please note that this transaction does not create a monthly debit order and you need to complete the payment for each invoice.
You can save once off bank account details when filling in the form on line for future use and elect either current or future dates for the payment to be effected.
Future Phase 2
Credit Push – loaded on the Ekurhuleni online service site. Once you have completed the payment instruction, payment will be available for authorisation from your Internet banking account. Ensure you log in to your Internet banking account to authorise the payment and complete the payment process.
Only once the user has logged into the banking product and authorised the payment request is this transaction regarded as an effective payment.
View account
View Payments, status of payments and payment instructions by clicking on ‘View’. In addition, the ‘View Account History’ option is a record of your municipal accounts and payments since you registered for the online payment of accounts.
Query / complaint
This allows you to lodge a query or complaint. Please note that you will not receive an electronic response from the Metro but rather a telephonic one.
