You need to have at least Adobe Reader version 8 installed on your computer to view PDF (Portable Document Format) documents from this website.

You can download the latest version of Adobe Reader for free.

If you already have Adobe Reader installed, check the version. To do this:

  1. Open Adobe Reader.
  2. Select ‘help’ then ‘about’.
  3. The version number will be displayed.

Viewing

If you have problems viewing a PDF, save the PDF file to your computer instead of opening the file in your web browser by following steps below:

  1. Right-click (Windows user) or hold down the mouse button (Mac OS user) on the link to the PDF file.
  2. Choose 'save target as' or 'save link as'.
  3. In the 'save as' pop-up box, specify a file name and location for the PDF file, then select 'save'.
  4. Double-click on the saved file to open it in Adobe Reader.

Printing

If you have problems printing a PDF, save the PDF file to your computer and print it by using these steps:

  1. Right-click (Windows user) or hold down the mouse button (Mac OS user) on the link to the PDF file.
  2. Choose 'save target as' or 'save link as'.
  3. In the 'save as' pop-up box, specify the file name and location for the PDF file, then select 'save'.
  4. Double-click on the saved file to open it in Adobe Reader.
  5. Print using the Adobe Reader print button.

You can also print the PDF file as an image by:

  1. Opening the PDF file in your web browser or Adobe Reader.
  2. Selecting 'file' then 'print'
  3. Selecting 'advanced', then 'print as image'.
  4. Selecting 'ok' to close the pop-up box, then choosing 'print'.

Filling out a PDF form

You can fill out a PDF form online if the author has allowed it.

Tips:

  • use the 'tab' or 'shift' + 'tab' keys to move from form field to field
  • print the completed PDF form and as many copies as you require for your records - you can't save the completed PDF form unless the author has allowed it
  • if you can't fill the form out on screen, print it out and complete by hand

accessibility

If you have problems reading a PDF file with assistive technology:

  • try using the 'read out loud' command of Adobe Reader to listen to the content of the PDF document

For more information on how to use an assistive technology to read PDF files, refer Adobe Reader accessibility.
