FIVE DRUG PEDDLERS BEHIND BARS FOLLOWING A TWO DAYS OPERATION IN AND AROUND ALBERTON

Today (03 Mar) in Eden park area at 05:00 around Abraham Street, Metro Police Officers from Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) apprehended four (4) people including a female and illegal substances were confiscated.

Officers raided Eden-Mews building from 5:00 this morning and a twosome of tenants, who are 35 and 36-years of age were found with fifteen (15) ziplocks of CAT, to the value of R3000. Two males who are 24 and 31-years of age, were also arrested on Abrahams street, after they were cornered with sixteen (16) ziplocks of dagga to the value of R500. The suspects were detained at the Eden park police station.

Meanwhile on Tuesday 28 February 2017 in Randhart suburb just before midday, the DEU apprehended a 51-year old female found relaxing at the corner of Epidote and Elizabeth Eybers for selling joint. The arrest comes after two (2) weeks of surveillance following a tip off from a concerned member of the community. Officers established that, the lady is a domestic worker in one of the houses on Poets road and during her lunch break, she is an illegal entrepreneur. The lady was found in possession of two hundred and eighteen (218) ziplocks of dagga to the value of R6460, before she was taken to the Alberton police station.

All five (5) suspects were charged with possession and dealing in illicit substances. Incarcerated law breakers will appear at the Palmridge Magistrate's Court soon.
