The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) is offering bursaries as a commitment to social and economic development to members of the community.

The Municipality invites applications from suitably qualified candidates with good academic potential to pursue fulltime studies in the following learning disciplines, Bachelors Degree, National Diploma, and Certificates from recognised higher and further education and Training institutions in the following disciplines:

  • SCIENCE & ENGINEERING
    Building & Construction Management, Human Settlements, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering Heavy Current (HC), Water & Sanitation, Geomatics Engineering, Architectural Studies, Quantity Survey, Town and Regional Planning and Development Planning.
  • LAW
    B Com Law; LLB, Civil Procedures, Contract Management, Law of Evidence and Paralegal Studies.
  • FINANCE
    B Com (Accounting), Economics, Cost and Management Accounting; and Internal Audit.
  • HEALTH & ENVIRONMENTAL
    Environmental Sciences, Horticulture, Landscaping and   Design and BSC (Nursing)
  • DEVELOPMENT
  • EMERGENCY SERVICES & HUMANITIES
    Disaster Management; Fire Technology & BA Social Work.

The bursaries shall be reviewed each year based on the learner’s performance.

Requirements: Grade 12 certificate/current matric exam results. Successful candidates will be obliged to enter into an agreement with the Municipality.
Application forms will be available at all public utilities (Public Libraries, Clinics and Civic Centres) within the Ekurhuleni region.  All completed applications must be submitted where they were obtained.

Closing Date: 28 September 2012 and no late applications will be considered. The contact person can be reached during normal working hours (08h00 – 16h00)

No fax copies shall be accepted. Current bursary holders need not re-apply.
