‘To fight for a better life for our people’ is what Mohlamola Mabote lists as his reason for being involved in politics. It started in 1982 when he joined AZAPO and then in 1983 he joined UDF, ANC and COSAS. Being a councillor is not new territory for Clr Mabote having previous terms from 1995 – 2011. During this time he served on the housing, public safety, rules, urban planning ad hoc committees as well as sport, recreation, arts and culture. Achieving what is outlined by the Manifesto Conference resolution, including the spending of the financial budget of the Metro is what Clr Mabote aims for in his term of office.
