Studying towards a BA in Policy Studies this new councillor started with politics in 1984 during the students and youth uprisings as a member of the Congress of South African Students. As part of his political involvement he joined the military wing of the ANC, then Umkhonto we Sizwe in 1989 where he specialized in politics and military combat work. He was part of the team that led the initiatives of reconstituting COSAS in 1987. While a councillor he aims to see the lives of ordinary people improve by placing all his abilities at their disposal.
