Clr Yende’s political career reads as follows, since 1999: he joined COSAS while at school to advance student issues, and joined SASCO and is currently an active member of both the ANC and the ANCYL. A new councillor he has served on ward committees and hopes, during his term of office to enhance the providing of services to the community and deepen public and community participation. He wants to see the eradication of poverty and the reduction of unemployment as well as see the development of informal emerging businesses, to name a few.
