ARTISTS' MUSIC AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

Together with the Gauteng Department of Economic Development, is inviting all Calling all SMMEs in the craft, fashion design, film and music industry to the Intellectual Property (IP) and Music Rights Awareness Roadshow on Friday, 7 September.

This is an initiative of the City, in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Economic Development, and takes place at the Germiston Theatre, It will be a hub of information on the day bringing information closer to the community on:

• Copyright registration,

• Registration for royalty distribution,

• IP Legal Protection and contracting advisory,

• Sponsorships towards market ready crafters, and

• Registration for SMME financial and non-financial support.

If you own an independent recording company, a publishing company, filming, fashion, design or craft production company this workshop is for you.

The following entities have been invited and will be on hand to provide information and advice:

Southern African Music Rights Organisation (Samro); South African Music Performance Association (Sampra); Recording Industry of South Africa (Risa); Association of Recording Companies (Airco); Marketing Association of South Africa (Masa); Composers, Authors and Publishers Association (Capasso); Gauteng Economic Propeller (Gep); Cultural and Creative Industries Federation of South Africa (CCIFSA); Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda); Small Enterprise Finance Agency (Sefa); Amasio Glass Beads Incubator; and Maxum Digital.
