EKURHULENI GEOGRAPHICAL NAMING AND RE-NAMING AWARENESS CAMPAIGN GETS UNDERWAY

RENAMING

A rigorous process of naming and renaming of council owned facilities, street names, townships and geographical features within the Ekurhuleni area will kick-start at the beginning of June 2018.

The City of Ekurhuleni has approved the Ekurhuleni Geographical Naming and Renaming Policy (ITEM A-SRAC OC (032016) CM 22/06/2017) in June 2017. As provided for by the Policy, the City of Ekurhuleni established the Ekurhuleni Geographical Naming and Renaming Committee.

The success of naming and renaming of Ekurhuleni's facilities and geographical features is based on community participation and consultation processes, which is set to begin on Saturday, 2 June, in Thokoza at Greenfield Sports complex.

Tsakane Community Hall 23 June 2018

Nomination forms for naming and renaming will be available at all libraries in Ekurhuleni as well as below as a download.
