With a total of 4 446 school girls reported to be pregnant by the Gauteng Education Department last year, the City of Ekurhuleni was the highest affected in the province with 1 289 expectant learners.
In this regard, the Executive Mayor Cllr Mzwandile Masina will on Friday, June 23 open a dialogue with parents at the Springs Town Hall to discuss this scourge.
The Parents Indaba will create a platform for parents, teachers and members of the school governing body from various schools around Ekurhuleni to interact with the municipality to find solutions on how to prevent teenage pregnancy.
