Three Arrested During Anti-Drugs Operation

The Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) Drug Enforcement Unit arrested three suspects for possession of narcotics and cash believed to be proceeds of crime in Katlehong and Vosloorus on 18 October.

A 40-year-old suspicious-looking male was accosted in Kwanele in Katlehong and officers found eight quarter- and five half-mandrax tablets valued at R650, with R130 cash. The lawbreaker was detained at Katlehong police station.

EMPD Acting Spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng said at Extension 11, Vosloorus, a 32- and 37-year-old couple were arrested after the drug fighting team uncovered five Ziploc bags of khat, 11 of crystal meth, 97 Ziploc bags and 460 grams of dagga in a plastic pack valued at R8 000 and R1 860 cash.

The pair was escorted to Vosloorus Police Station.
