Currently this service is available in five hotspot libraries within the City – Alberton, Germiston, Springs, Edenvale and Boksburg.
“It is exciting to see how we get ready for the future in terms of serving the community. This service will greatly assist learners and students with available information on their device for research purposes in their school work,” said Karin Muller, Divisional Head of Library and Information Services.
The City has received six ICT interns from province who will assist with the process of activating the service to community members in the five libraries. To register for the service visit any of the libraries and you will be assisted to download the app and taken through the process of activating it.
After being activated the service can work even outside the radius of the hotspot library. The app will then be active on your device for a duration of two weeks at a time, after that the user needs to reactivate the app at the library in order to access the service again.
Interested parties wanting this app must contact the library on info.libraries@ekurhuleni.gov.za.
