PUBLIC CALLED TO COMMENT ON INDEPENDENT POWER PRODUCERS

The City of Ekurhuleni is calling on members of the public to make in-put on the issue of independent power producers (IPPs).

The city plans to appoint multiple IPPs for various electricity generation technologies to a capacity of 1500 Megawatts.

The appointed IPPs will be awarded 20 year contracts.

Members of the community and other interested parties are invited to submit comments or representation to the municipality in respect of the proposed contract to April.dlamini@ekurhuleni.gov.za and Jabulile.kgomo@ekurhuleni.gov.za
