REVAMPED BENONI LIBRARY OPENS TO PATRONS

The Benoni Library reopened to the public on Friday, 16 September 2022, following four months of renovations that cost the City R3.7 million. The 47-year-old library was renovated to offer better services to the community while inspiring creativity.

Renovations undertaken include:

  • Replacement and water proofing of the roof;
  • Installation of new carpets throughout the facility;
  • Painting of walls;
  • Repair of the air conditioning system;
  • Installation of ceramic tiles in the reception area; and
  • The installation of new toilet facilities.

The City anticipates that patrons will love spending their time at the new-look facility which provides a new environment that is safe and more comfortable and well-resourced.
