SIX SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN A CLAMPDOWN ON ILLEGAL POWER CONNECTIONS
Hundreds of metres of cables used to steal electricity and six arrests were made in a clamp down in the early hours of Thursday (18 October) on Emlotheni and Emandleni informal settlements.
The City's EMPD and SAPS members, together with Eskom and City officials were involved in the operation at the informal settlements which adjoin Wattville and Actonville. Cables were found linked to the formal houses' street boxes to connect the informal settlements.
The six suspects aged between 35 and 39 were charged with theft of electricity from the City.
