SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AND BURSARIES

The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) in partnership with the Department of Public Works has implemented Phase 3 of Vuk’uphile Learner Contractor Development Programme, which is part of the EPWP.

The programme was aimed at incubating and mentoring emerging contractors into fully-fledged contractors and site supervisors with adequate administrative, technical, contractual, managerial and entrepreneurial skills that enables them to operate sustainable business entities. At programme completion, emerging contractors are eligible to be certified with NQF Level 4, in supervision of construction process (SAQA ID 49053) and have an improved CIDB grading.

Internships and learnerships are advertised, and must be applied for, on the City’s vacancies section.

The City also offers bursaries to deserving students.
