About Roads and Stormwater

Purpose

In addition to the planning and reviewing of storm water and roads infrastructure strategies, this division is also responsible for the development and maintenance of roads and stormwater infrastructure.

It is responsible for:

  • Providing roads and stormwater services
  • Constructing and maintaining roads and stormwater infrastructure.

Division

This division is divided into the following sections:

Strategic Planning

Strategic Planning which drives the support of the City’s goals as set out in the GDS 2055, as well as the IDP by focussing on long term planning issues.

Functional Planning

Functional Planning deals mostly with the short- to medium-term planning.

 
Implementation

Implementation hands the implementation of the Capital Investment Programme.

Maintenance

Maintenance unit’s primary function is the maintenance of all roads and stormwater infrastructure within the City of Ekurhuleni.
