About Roads and Storm Water

PURPOSE

In addition to the planning and reviewing of storm water and roads infrastructure strategies, this department is also responsible for the development and maintenance of roads and storm water infrastructure.

It is responsible for:

  • Providing roads and storm water services
  • Constructing and maintaining roads and storm water infrastructure.

Divisions

Office of The HoD

The Roads and Storm Water Department is, as the name suggest, responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Roads and Storm water infrastructure. This position is currently vacant

Strategic Planning

Led by Ntombi Nyaga, this division drives the support of the City’s goals as set out in the GDS 2055, as well as the IDP by focussing on long term planning issues

Functional Planning

This division deals mostly with the Short- to medium-term planning is the main function of this division, led by Barend Deminey

 
Implementation

DH Gugu Ngubane: This division deals with The implementation of the Capital Investment Programme is handed in this division

Maintenance

DH Anthony Mulder sees to this division where the primary focus is the maintenance of all roads and storm water infrastructure within the City of Ekurhuleni.

Governance and Compliance

Moshe Maphoru: The main aim of this division is to ensure that planning and operational initiatives are implemented so as to support the outcomes of the department

Support

This division renders support to all other divisions with respect to the non-core issues under the direction of DH Mthandazo Zulu.
