PUBLIC COMMENTS ON CHILD CARE AND SPAZA SHOP POLICIES MAY STILL BE SUBMITTED UNTIL 30 APRIL
The City of Ekurhuleni has concluded the public participation meetings to solicit comments on the draft Child Care Centre and Spaza Shop policies.
The purpose of these policies is to regulate and control the operations of Spaza shops and Child Care Centres through the prescribed norms and standards, to ensure compliance with safety and health requirements, and to provide for a proper establishment of Spaza Shops and Child Care Centres and the application process thereof.
The minimum standards will guide the Municipality when evaluating land development applications for the establishment of these facilities/centres, thus ensuring a consistent approach to Spaza Shops and Child Care Centres within the City.
However, members of the public who would like to comment on the draft policies may still send their comments by email no later than 30 April to the following officials:
