INVITATION FOR STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

REVIEW OF METROPOLITAN SPATIAL DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORKS AND DRAFTING REGIONAL SPATIAL DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORKS FOR REGIONS B, C, D, E, AND F
OFTHE EKURHULENI METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY

Your City is reviewing the current Metropolitan Spatial Development Framework, 2011(MSDF) as well as drafting Regional Spatial Development Frameworks (RSDFs) for Regions B, C, D, E and F of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.  All five RSDF’s will be consolidated with the existing RSDF for Region A which will result in the revision of the Metropolitan Spatial Development Framework (MSDF) of 2011.

These Spatial Development Frameworks serve as a spatial development vision, to guide spatial development patterns in the city and associated infrastructure development and capital investment.

In terms of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act (Act 32 of 2000) chapter 4 section 17 (1) read in conjunction with chapter 5 section 26 (e), the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality hereby calls upon the community and residents, including property owners, property developers, businesses, government institutions, organs of civil society and all other relevant stakeholders within Ekurhuleni, to participate in the process of reviewing the Metropolitan Spatial Development Frameworks,2011 and the formulation of supporting RSDF’s.

Comments and representations can be forwarded by e-mail to emmrsdf@gibb.co.za or alternatively posted to the City Planning Department, at P O Box 13, Kempton Park, 1620, or may be hand-delivered at our City Planning offices  or at City Planning Corporate Office at Markem Building  cnr. Margaret Avenue and Kempton Road, Kempton Park.

When to submit comments
All comments and representations must reach the City Planning Department by no later than 29 June 2015.
