LOCAL AUTHORITY NOTICE
EKURHULENI METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY
APPROVAL OF THE REVIEWED INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT PLAN (IDP) 2016, THE MEDIUM TERM REVENUE AND EXPENDITURE FRAMEWORK (MTREF) 2016/2017 – 2018/2019, THE DETERMINATION OF ASSESSMENT RATES FOR THE 2016/2017 FINANCIAL YEAR AND THE APPROVAL OF VARIOUS TARIFFS
1. NOTICE IS HEREWITH GIVEN:
1.1. In terms of section 25(4)(a) of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, that the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality has adopted its 2016 Reviewed Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and approved the Medium Term Revenue and Expenditure Framework (MTREF) 2016/2017 – 2018/2019. A copy of the reviewed IDP and approved Budget is available as set out in point (2) hereunder;
1.2. In terms of section 14 of the Local Government: Municipal Property Rates Act, Act 6 of 2004, that the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, at a meeting held on 28 April 2016 passed a resolution in respect of the levying of rates on property for the financial year 1 July 2016 to 30 June 2017; and
1.3. In terms of section 75A of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000 that the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, at a meeting held on 28 April 2016, resolved to approve the following tariffs with effect from 1 July 2016, to provide for increased costs:
Supply of Electricity; Water Supply Services and Incidental Charges; Sewerage Disposal Services and Incidental Charges; Waste Management Services and Incidental charges; Financial Services; Building Plans and Related Fees; Road Related Service Provisions; Rendering of Services by Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department; Rendering of Services by the Department of Transport Planning and Provision; Rendering of Services by Disaster Management Services; Rendering of Services by Emergency Services; Libraries and Information Services; Library Auditorium Tariffs; Arts, Culture and Heritage Facilities; Sport and Recreation Facilities; Removal of Street Trees; Cemeteries and Crematoriums; Advertising Signs; City Planning Tariffs; Rendering Services by Economic Development; Environmental Health Services; Municipal Bus Services; and Hire of or Use of Facilities in Parks.Rendering Services by Real Estate.
2. Copies of the resolutions are available for public inspection during office hours for the period 13 May 2016 to 13 June 2016 at the Ekurhuleni Head Office Building, Germiston, and at the following venues:
