ROTATIONAL LOAD SHEDDING FOR PARTS OF BENONI
Due to the ongoing power troubles that have hit parts of Benoni recently, the City of Ekurhuleni has resorted to introducing rotational loadshedding while attempting to come out with a permanent solution to the problem.
The rotational load shedding is being introduced to mitigate the impact of the power outage which started on Thursday, 23 March, after a 132kV oil-filled cable developed a fault. The rotational load shedding is planned as follows:

Unfortunately, the areas below are excluded from the schedule due to network configuration constraints:
- Goedeburg and the surrounding areas
- Parts of Northmead.
- Parts of Farramere.
These areas will only be restored once the 132 kV oil-filled cable has been repaired, which is anticipated to be this coming Friday if all goes according to plan.
