CITY OF EKURHULENI CELEBRATES THE ECONOMIC IMPACT OF BEER INDUSTRY AT THE 3RD ANNUAL STATE OF THE BEER ECONOMY EVENT
The City of Ekurhuleni, known for its vibrant business environment and commitment to economic development, proudly acknowledges the significant contributions of the beer industry to local job creation and revenue generation. Today, the MMC, Cllr Nomadlozi Nkosi responsible for Economic Development in the City of Ekurhuleni attended the 3rd Annual State of the Beer Economy event, hosted by South African Breweries at Alrode Brewery in Alberton.
The event provided an exceptional platform for key stakeholders, industry experts, and government representatives to come together and discuss the remarkable impact of the beer industry on the local economy. As the MMC responsible for Economic Development, Cllr Nkosi expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage with industry leaders and gain valuable insights into the industry’s growth and potential.
The beer industry has long been recognised as a significant driver of economic prosperity in the City of Ekurhuleni. Through its multi-faceted operations, the industry contributes to job creation, supports local businesses, and generates substantial revenue for the municipality.
MMC Nkosi concluded her opening remarks by highlighting the importance of responsible alcohol consumption and emphasised the need for collaboration between industry players, government authorities, and community organisations to ensure strict adherence to liquor regulations. She commended the SAB for their proactive efforts in raising awareness about the potential risks associated with excessive alcohol consumption and for promoting responsible behavior among consumers.
The City of Ekurhuleni remains committed to supporting and promoting responsible alcohol consumption practices through various initiatives. These include partnerships with community organizations, awareness campaigns, and the enforcement of regulations to prevent underage drinking and discourage alcohol-related harm.
