GOVERNMENT INTRODUCES REGISTRATION PORTAL FOR BUSINESSES AFFECTED BY RECENT LOOTING
Business owners who have been affected by the recent spate of unrest and looting which happened between 9 and 19 July can seek help by registering on a portal that was recently launched. This is one of the measures government implemented to help small and medium businesses to rebuild after suffering losses and damaged.
President Cyril Ramaphosa on the 25 July announced a number of relief measures that national and provincial government would undertake to assist affected businesses.
The registration portal collects data from those affected to better coordinate relief measures, as well as to inform of future interventions. The portal provides a single entry point for businesses to indicate the extent of losses they have suffered, and to access available facilities.
Data collected is kept secure and will only be used to improve the delivery of support measures being administered through various national and provincial government entities.
To register via the portal go to https://www.relief4sa.co.za
Alternatively, business owners who experience problems accessing the portal may make use of the toll-free call centre on 080 006 00850 between 08h00 to 17h00 on weekdays (closed on public holidays).
The portal and call centre will remain open for affected businesses to register until Thursday, 30 September at 17h00.
