Leondale Library Part of 20 Year Celebration
Situated in Noreen Road in Roodekop, Leondale library is one of the City’s state-of-the-art libraries.
The library was built in August 2017 through a partnership between the City and Gauteng Provincial government. It is under the leadership of long time librarian Maggie Pretorius who, together with four other staff members, ensure that Leondale and surrounding communities’ library needs are catered for.
In the past two decades of the City’s existence, Leondale library was one of the facilities built during this time. One of the success stories the library has to tell is that there are a number of learners and students who have gone through the Microsoft Training Certificate and completed it – the certificate was offered by the library in trying to improve computer literacy of the youth in the area.
The library offers a children’s section, adult book reference section as well as study facilities. This library has also seen many local up and coming artists involved in activities offered, such free mosaic workshops which was used to not only beautify the library but also to sharpen their skills
