Learners from Phulong Secondary School received a life-changing tip from Member of Mayoral Committee for Infrastructure Services Cllr Masele Madihlaba.

“Work hard to take advantage of bursaries which the City of Ekurhuleni offer to performing learners,’’ Cllr Madihlaba advised learners during a visit P to the schools, in the company of Gauteng MEC for Finance Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko. The visit on 15 January marked the opening of schools.

The visit, which was part of the #BACK2THEFUTURE- a campaign that seeks to ensure that doors of learning are adequately open for all young people in the region.

Each year, the City spends millions of rands on bursaries to students in higher learning who have performed well in their matric exams.
