BLUEGUM VIEW TAXI RANK TO BE HANDED OVER TO COMMUTERS OF DUDUZA

Member of the Mayoral committee (MMC) for Roads and Transport Management Cllr Andile Mngwevu will officially handover the newly completed state-of-the-art Bluegum View Taxi rank to Duduza community and taxi operators on Wednesday, 16 April 2025.

The facility has been on the city’s Integrated Development Plan (IDP) for Duduza for some time due to the pressing transport needs of the community.

The taxi rank will not only bring ease to the means of transportation for commuters, but it will also provide stable economic opportunities for local entrepreneurs to run their small businesses at the built-in stalls. It will also provide commuters with a centralized nodal point of travelling and reduce walking distances before they catch a taxi.

The city’s aim to roll out taxi ranks is to encourage the use of public transport which can reduce congestion on the roads
