City Offers Free First Aid Training
Saving a life is everyone’s responsibility and the City’s Disaster and Emergency Services (DEMS) offers free basic first aid training to members of the public.
DEMS also offers Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), basic firefighting and evacuation in case of emergency related incidences.
In addition, free training is available on general home safety talk which covers candle, paraffin, liquefied petroleum (LP) gas, generator and electricity safety.
Armed with this training members of the public will be able to offer basic response when faced with emergency related incidences.
How to apply:
- Send a training request to DEMS office and at any of the City’s fire stations;
- A minimum of 10 people and maximum of 25 are required for a training session to take place;
- Training is offered to any organised group, from crèches, schools, organisations, Community Policing Forums (CPF), social clubs and the like.
