Deputy Minister Kodwa to Visit AMCare Centre for Community Based Projects

The Deputy Minister of State Security, Mr Zizi Kodwa, will on Friday, 7 August, visit the AMCare Centre for Community Based Projects in Alberton as part of his scheduled activities for the Women’s Month Programme, and will be accompanied by Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor Mzwandile Masina. 

AMCare Centre runs a variety of community based programmes such as a victims empowerment for abused women and children, HIV and AIDS Awareness for families and a Home Based Care Programme for the elderly.

The Deputy Minister has been deployed at the City as one of the champions to coordinate the Presidential District Development Model which, among others, seeks to integrate development planning within various districts under the theme – One District, One Plan.

During his visit, he will assess the work and impact of the centre in helping victims of gender based violence and the possible additional interventions that government can make to assist in this regard.
