Drone Build-A-Thon
Calling for entries in the City’s Drone Build-A-Thon, which will give two lucky local want-to-be drone pilots the opportunity to qualify as pilots in this new and up and coming career sector.
The competition starts on 12 June at the Tsakane Stadium, and is a partnership with Mzansi Aerospace Technologies.
Interested?
The selection criteria is:
Applicants must be an Ekurhuleni resident who is at least a 2nd year TVET college/university student.
Must be studying towards, or have completed, an engineering or technology diploma.
Must be considering a career in the drone industry.

By entering you could be one of 10 finalists to take part in the Drone Build-A-Thon. You will receive theory and practical training on how to build and fly a drone over two days and on the third will be given the opportunity to test your skills in front of colleagues and
drone industry players.
TWO LUCKY STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE SCHOLARSHIP TO A DRONE PILOT COURSE.
How to enter?
Send the following to dbat@mzansiaero.tech:
A 1-page resume;
Proof of 2019 registration at a TVET/university, or certified copy of your degree/diploma (if completed);
Certified copy of ID and student card; and
Proof of residence.
Once submitted, you will receive an email acknowledgement. The decision of the selection panel is final.
