Libraries an Information Hub for Winter School Learners

Libraries in Ekurhuleni are ready to welcome learners to use the library facilities and its services during the winter school holidays.

Winter Schools programmes are organised on yearly basis by different schools to assist matric learners and prepare them for their final year exams.

 ‘’We are proud to be of assistance to all members of the community of the City in the library services and I am proud to say that our libraries also have services for the visually impaired’’ said Head of Library and Information Services Karin Muller.

Muller said there were several services offered in libraries within the City which can be of assistance to learners during the winter school programme.

“These services include the drop and collect which allows learners to borrow material from the library and arrange to collect it at a particular time and day as well as dropping it off in at a specific box at the library.  

There is also a press reader which allows patrons to have access over 7000 newspapers and magazines at the click of a button, free Wi-fi is also accessible in all our libraries for all the patrons who uses the library facility for learners to do their research at the comfort of the library and their mobile phones Muller said.

Other additional services, according to Muller are the computers and auxiliary services where patrons can print as well as photocopy any library material they need.
