MMC FOR HUMAN SETTLEMENTS CLLR PETERSON LEADS DONATION OF SHOES TO NEEDY LEARNERS
The City of Ekurhuleni’s donation to Winnie Mandela Secondary School will go a long way in addressing the plight of the needy learners at the school.
This was said by the City’s MMC for Human Settlements, Cllr Dino Peterson, on Wednesday, 15 June 2022 when he handed over 90 school shoes and sanitary towels.
“The donation is partly to create awareness about the plight the learners are facing, and some of that was caused by the economic hardships related to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said the MMC.
The school’s principal Eddie Kekana said they have many learners who come from child-headed families, and some learners depend on the school’s feeding scheme.
