New Park for Barcelona And Langaville Extension 3

Work is at an advanced stage to present the community of Barcelona and Langaville Extension 3 with a colourful, safe and family friendly community park.

The City has invested almost R20 million to construct the community park with favourable amenities such as outdoor gym equipment, braai facilities, amphitheatre and play equipment. The City has employed contractors to carry out all the work, and members of the local community are employed temporarily on the project.

Upon completion, the park will boast more amenities such pedestrian bridge, gabion walls, different sports courts, ClearVu fencing, Lawn, Guardhouse, Ablution facilities, Berm and Paved walkways.

The park will be completed and handed over to the community in June 2022 because the will be major earthworks to accommodate the wetland within the park and construction of a pedestrian bridge.
