SPEAKER TO LEAD AWARENESS CAMPAIGN FOR EKURHULENI LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITY

Tomorrow, the Speaker of Council, Cllr. Nthabiseng Tshivhenga, will lead an awareness campaign from Katlehong CCC 2 to the Palm Ridge High Court.

The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness in Ekurhuleni about ensuring an inclusive environment and society for the LGBTQIA+ Community.

Earlier this year, the Speaker hosted the City’s first ever ‘Queer Scamtho’ which focused on how to build a society and community that is inclusive, non-discriminatory and accepting of everybody. The outcomes of this discussion were captured and put into a memorandum that will be handed over to the Palm Ridge High Court by the LGBTQIA+ Community on Tuesday.
