Beware of Tender Scammers

The City of Ekurhuleni warns the public to be aware of an ongoing tender scam for the removal, cleaning and rehabilitation of illegally dumped non-toxic, non-objectionable solid waste and rubble on an as-and-when-required basis.

The solid and toxic waste removal tender scam is being perpetuated by a person claiming to be an employee of the City.

The City has been inundated with complaints from potential service providers who are receiving calls from the scammer soliciting money to purportedly fast track their tender application.

The scammer who claims to be involved in tender process, lures applicants to a meeting with an aim to discuss their tender application, and recite their personal information contained in their applications to gain their trust.

the city informs all tender applicants that applications for the removal, cleaning and rehabilitation of illegally dumped non-toxic, non-objectionable solid waste and rubble on an as and when required basis are handled and processed free of charge.
