Criminals Caught Damaging Krugersrus Sub-Station in Springs

Law enforcers successfully apprehended criminals while they were busy tampering, damaging and destroying essential electrical infrastructure at the Krugersrus Sub-Station in Springs on Friday, 15 April. 

As the patrolling team arrived at the Substation, a number of unknown 

males were spotted running from the transformer towards the back of the substation. Officers made a quick move and managed to catch one male with the equipment they were using.

Damaged property at the Sub-Station include transformer’s casing, valves and transformer’s fan/Oil Cooler.

Value of the damages is estimated at 

R500 000.00. 

Exhibits confiscated:

2 X Gas Cylinder bottles

1 X Cutting Touch Nozzle with pipes

1 X Gwala/Crowbar

1 X Transformer Valve

3 X pairs of Protection Hand cloves

The suspect and exhibits was handed to Springs SAPS.
