Driver Arrested for Clocking 179km/H on N12

A 26-year old male driver in a VW Polo hatchback was arrested on Sunday, 4 October at 06h50 when clocking 179km/h on the N12 eastbound near Germiston offramp.

The driver alleged that he was late for work. Five other drivers between the ages of 31 and 40, suffered the same fate on this 120km/h zone, when caught travelling at 164, 166, 167, 169 and 172km/h.

Meanwhile, on Saturday morning at 06h45 a 26-year old male motorist in a VW Polo was caught doing 174km/, on the N12 eastbound in the Alberton area and arrested.

All seven face charges of reckless and negligent driving, and will appear in court soon.
