Ekurhuleni Mitigates COVID-19 Risks at the Workplace by Screening Employees

Over two thousand City of Ekurhuleni employees were screened for Covid-19 on 4 May in line with the Level 4 lockdown regulations that require screening of all employees returning to their workplaces, and furthermore in contributing to the need to do more tests to detect any case of Covid-19.

The City is conducting mass screening for both essential workers, those that are working remotely and employees who are currently on lockdown in accordance with Government’s guidelines on management of Covid-19.

The screening is happening at Kempton Park Civic Centre, Springs Civic Centre, Boksburg and Germiston. Mass screening includes both questionnaire and temperature screenings.

The City has set aside three days to screen all its employees this week from 4 to 6 May. Constant screening will continue at different working stations in the coming weeks.
