Paper Recycling Company Go up in Flames

A paper recycling company caught fire today (Thursday, 15 October) on the corner of Power and Sigma roads in Germiston South.

The City’s fire fighters from Germiston Central Fire Station received a call at 04h10. On arrival the entire backyard was engulfed in flames from burning bales of paper. The warehouse and office blocks were already catching fire and the prompt intervention by the fire fighters prevented the flames from spreading across the entire structure.  

Boksburg central, Wadeville, and Primrose fire stations provided backup by with a fleet of seven fire engines.

Investigations will be done to determine the cause of the fire. No casualties were recorded.
