Service Delivery Departments Operate on One Third Staff Capacity to Curb the Spread of COVID-19

Following President Cyril Ramaphosa’s address on the extension of COVID-19 lockdown Level 3 regulations on Monday, 11 January 2021, all service delivery departments will adhere to the guidelines such as operating with one third of employees per building so as to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace.

The City’s workforce in service delivery departments, such as water and sanitations, energy, waste management services, parks and cemeteries, will work on a rotational basis.

Although this arrangement may affect the response time to service delivery calls, the City aims to strike a balance between preserving employees’ lives while keeping the ball rolling on service delivery.

All non-essential workers will work from home.
