Civic Funeral for Cllr Bongi Roselinah Sibanyoni

 It is with great sadness that the City announces the untimely death of Cllr Bongi Roselinah Sibanyoni, who passed away on Saturday, 26 January, at N17 Netcare Hospital following a short illness. 

At an extra ordinary council sitting today (28 January) in Germiston, as per the Ekurhuleni Council’s Protocol Policy, it was decided to hold a civic funeral for the late councillor. A memorial service takes place on 30 January at 3pm at the Faranani Multi-Purpose Centre, Tsakane, while the councillor will be laid to rest on Saturday, 2 February, in Bethal, Mpumalanga, with the service starting at 08h00. 

Speaker of Council Alderman Patricia Kumalo expresses her heartfelt condolences to the family of the councillor, and encourages her community and colleagues to support and comfort the family during this trying time.

Cllr Sibanyoni was described as being unquestionably dedicated to her work.
