THE SPEAKER OF COUNCIL OFFICIATES THE SWEARING IN OF NEW CHAIRPERSONS OF SECTION 79 COMMITTEES

On Monday, 31 August 2026, the Speaker of Council in the City of Ekurhuleni, Councillor John Senona, officiated the swearing in of three new Chairpersons of Section 79 Committees.

Councillor Gloria Ndinisa from the ANC is now the Chairperson of the Ethics and Integrity Standing Committee, Councillor Alister Chair from the Patriotic Alliance (PA) is the Chairperson of the Gender, Children, Youth and People with disabilities Standing Committee and Councillor Phumanazo  Mchunu from the IFP is now the Chairperson of the Water, Sanitation and Energy Oversight Committee.

The Speaker welcomed the new Chairpersons and wished them well in serving the people of Ekurhuleni with integrity and upholding their sworn oath.
