
Copper Cable Thief Sentenced To 15 Years In Prison

A stellar job by law enforcers led to the successful arrest and conviction of Armando Shirindza, a Mozambican national, caught stealing copper cables around Daveyton in November 2020.
On Monday, 29 March 2021, Magistrate E Schutte of the Benoni Magistrates’ Courts sentenced the accused to 15 years in prison for the theft of 1.6m of copper cables and three 185mm core copper cables.
Magistrate Schutte applauded all law enforcers who were involved in handling the case with professionalism and competence.
