Duo Arrested In Drug Operation

Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested during the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department’s (EMPD) Operation Kurhula in Buhle Park on 22 May.

Officers patrolling the area stopped and searched the duo who looked suspicious in Endwell Street arrested.

According to EMPD Media Liaison Officer Thabiso Makgato, upon searching officers uncovered 51x ziplocks crystal meth, 45 ziplocks of dagga with an estimated street value of R6 000.

Makgato says the two suspects age 24 and 32 were arrested and officers seized the uncovered drugs.

The two were charged with possession of illegal substance and possible dealing in drugs.

The arrested suspects are expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
