EMPD And EMS Drill Squad Getting Ready For SoCA 2021

Germiston is today, 23 March, a hive of activity as preparation for the State of the City Address are underway for when the Executive Mayor Cllr Mzwandile Masina will deliver his last address for this term of office.

The disciplined and dedicated marching platoon, which comprises the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) and Emergency Services (EMS) members were seen rehearsing in preparation for tomorrow’s address.

Even though SOCA will be a virtual broadcast from 10h00, as soon as the hour strikes 09h00 the well-trained drilling platoon will be on parade at the OR Tambo Government Precinct. Executive Mayor Cllr Mzwandile Masina, Chief of Police Jabulani I. Mapiyeye and other delegated officials will then inspect the parade before the business of the day commences. The EMPD Choir will also provide during the virtual proceedings.

As from 06h00, there will be limited access on the streets in Germiston, around the OR Tambo Government Precinct on streets like Hospital, Queen, Cross, Lambert and Long.
