Four Arrested for Possession of Narcotics

Four Arrested for Possession of NarcoticsYesterday (5 January) between 15h00 and 16h00 during an anti-drugs operation in Tsakane, four arrests were made by the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Drug Enforcement Unit, and narcotics seized.

At 15h10, a suspicious-looking 40-year-old female found idling on Black Road was approached and frisked and five knotted plastic bags of nyaope, valued at R250, were confiscated.

Between 15h17 and 15h50 at Langaville Extension 7, two males and a female suspects, aged 27, 30 and 32, were caught with 42 half and full mandrax tablets, a Ziploc bag of crystal meth, 40 Ziploc bags, three plastic bags and 404 grams of dagga, valued at R6 500, and R750 cash.

The detained foursome, facing charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substance/s, were marched to Tsakane police station and are expected to appear in the Tsakane Magistrates’ Court soon.
