JOINT ILLEGAL MINING OPERATION IN SPRINGS
Following up on information on illegal mining activities at Everest informal settlement in Springs on Wednesday, 25 August 2021, members of the SAPS and EMPD’s equestrian unit found a man processing gold.
The man was arrested for illegal mining and possession of unlicenced precious metals and will appear in court soon.
All equipment and property found at the scene were siezed and booked in at the Springs Police Station as was R30 000, also found at the scene.
