Man Detained For Possession of Dagga worth R230k

Responding to a tip off from concerned community members, the EMPD Specialised Task Team Unit were able to apprehend a 38-year-old man in possession of 38 bags on marijuana in a house in Tsakane Extension 19.

It was on Friday, 29 May, at 14h30 on Siyabonga Street, where the 47-year-old was handcuffed and marched to Tsakane police station. Officers found 190kgs and eight large black bags containing dagga valued at R230 000 and R42 160 in cash stashed inside a wardrobe and underneath the bed.

The suspect faces charges of possession and dealing in dagga.
