MMC FOR COMMUNITY SAFETY CLLR LETLHOGONOLO MOSEKI ASSURES FAMILIES OF SHOOTING VICTIMS CITY SUPPORT

MMC for Community Safety Cllr Letlhogonolo Moseki assured the families of the victims of Katlehong tavern shooting that the city will support them to get justice, and for the perpetrators to be arrested and prosecuted.

MMC Moseki and the city’s Chief of Police Isaac Mapiyeye visited the families on Wednesday, 13 July 2022.

This follows the shooting at Katlehong tavern on Friday, 8 July 2022 where Sibusio Hlatshwayo (28) and James Fitha Dlamini (56) were killed.

“We will not rest until these people are arrested and they will also not rest until they are in jail because we will always be hot on their heels. We cannot allow this kind of criminality, which has no space in our city, to continue.

“Anyone with information that can help the police to arrest and successfully prosecute those involved in this crime and other crimes across the city may report it at any EMPD precinct near them or the SAPS. If we can join hands we can defeat crime,” he said.

MMC Moseki urged the community to work with the police and help fight crime in their areas.

Both families expressed gratitude for the visit by the City of Ekurhuleni.
